A pharmacy, part of a SPAR store in Hampshire, is celebrating after winning a trophy in the Best of Health Awards run by their local newspaper.
Horndean Pharmacy near Waterlooville won the Pharmacy of the Year category in the awards scheme run by the Portsmouth News. The awards set out to recognise unsung local heroes who work to make a difference and provide the best healthcare in the region.
The pharmacy is part of a neighbourhood SPAR store managed by Barry Savage and owned by the H.J. Everett Chemist Group in Southampton who acquired it from Genplus earlier this year.
Pharmacist Sanjeet Nijkar and his colleague Vicki Norman were nominated for the excellent customer service they provide.
“I’m very pleased and surprised to have won,” said Sanjeet. “We treat our customers like friends, support them and try to give the best advice, and I am grateful to all those people who nominated us for this award, which we were honoured to win.”
