A Wiveliscombe store owner has been elected to the Wessex Guild of SPAR, the UK’s leading convenience store group.
Brian Humphrey, who runs the SPAR store in West Street, Wiveliscombe with his wife Barbara, joins 11 other retailers from throughout the south and west on the Wessex Guild. He is pictured here being welcomed to the Guild by Nick Kenworthy, Wessex Guild Chairman.
SPAR is served by six regional distribution centres throughout the UK, each of which has a Guild which meets to discuss and review company policy decisions. The Wessex Guild is made up of retailers and senior management from SPAR’s regional distribution company Appleby Westward, which supplies convenience stores throughout the region.
The Wessex Guild is an important decision-making body which acts in the interests of nearly 300 SPAR stores throughout the south and west. Each committee member represents a designated area throughout the Guild and Brian will represent an area covering most of Somerset.
